Altering. Improving?

I’m very restless as an artist.  I often go back and change previous paintings, if I don’t think it worked, or it’s been exhibited in more than one place and not sold, or sometimes just because I’ve got new ideas on the subject.  Each piece is a starting point or spring board for fresh directions… I have artist friends who never throw a finished work away – I could never do that, but perhaps they are just better artists than me!

So here are a couple I’ve been working on today.

These are only 3″ x 3″, and started out life as little square colourful landscapes on the stall I share with a friend at Bodnant Craft Centre at Bodnant Gardens – look at www.bodnantgarden.co.uk, it’s a lovely place.

But they were lacking something, a bit boring, so I added birds ….
