Just been to a very inspiring talk by Alan Cotton, oil painter – can’t wait to get home and experiment with his ideas about a warm underpainting – check him out here.

Was actually in need of some inspiration as my exhibition at the Carriage Works, Denbigh, went really well! And virtually sold out of oil paintings.  But I don’t know about you other artists out there, when I’ve sold well, I feel I’m never going to be able to do anything so good again, and coupled with some family issues, I’ve had a really low month oil-wise.  Did manage  to do the above two watercolours, enjoying mixing warm and cold colours to make the darks sing – also have done some mini-pictures for Art Vend at Oriel Wrexham – the commission was for 50 of them, 3″ x 3″ – here is one of them:
