A cure for Jaded-ness!

Just finished this – which I adapted from an earlier painting, tend to do that a lot, so an archaeologist could journey down and find previous layers….

Teenage Little Tern, oil on canvas, 15 cm x 15 cm

When they are a little older, Little Terns are learning to fly but are not very skilled at it, sometimes they land just by the incoming tide, looking pathetic, getting together the energy to fly out of the way again before they drown (which they generally do manage to do, as in get out of the way, not drown!)

However, was feeling painted out by then so we went down for a super few days to mid Wales, on the Afon Dyfy – fell by lucky chance on an amazing hotel, the Glan Yr Afon at Pennal –

– went along the beautiful Welsh Western coast, where the waves are always bracing …

Now feeling full of ideas and ready to get going again!

That water looks way too cold for a young bird. They must be pretty tough to even be near it. 🙂
