Cormorants and Catsharks

Have been back to the dunes this week to paint Cormorants.

I often recycle canvases when I want a change incorporating some of the original painting.  This was a natterjack toad that had had its day.  Its sort of archaeological art.

I also saw these lovely Smallspotted Catshark egg cases, only 5 cm long.  They must have been laid last June, and although now empty! still clutch onto their anchoring seaweed with long delicate tendrils.  I’m going to do small watercolours of all my finds on the beach this year, picture to follow.  Aren’t they cute?  Well I think so!!
