A Nautical Day

I’ve had a very nautical day – first of all finished the latest in my ‘Avian Geography’ series.  The little terns have nearly all left the dunes now and started their migration southwards and this is called ‘Gronant Dunes: thoughts of migration’ to mark this.

Possibly even more exciting on this red-letter day is I have received my copy of the 1889 edition of ‘Nautical Terms English/French’ by Leon Delbos, to help with translating the more obscure parts of the ‘City of Ottawa’ log books.  This has brought me so much pleasure, it’s confirmed: I’m a translation nerd!
