The Exhibition is up at last, it’s great to go onto something else for a while. I’ve been experimenting with Indian rag paper, the Mango cotton rag works best:
The mango shines through and gives the painting a luminous quality, and the paper is so tough it can be worked, re-worked, and even varnished. I went with sketch book along the Elwy Valley, where the road, instead of following the river, loops in a series of deep-sided swoops cross-wise over and back again.
I made about six small paintings initially, but left three at Funky Aardvark in Chester.
